The Heritage Rescuer · Archival Calligraphy
Where Gurmukhi Calligraphy Meets Conservation Science
Archival Calligraphy was founded around one question: if we create a beautiful Gurmukhi manuscript today, will it still be readable a hundred years from now?
Beyond the Beauty of the Letterform
Most calligraphy education focuses on letterforms, pen control, layout, and artistic expression. These skills are essential — but they represent only one part of a manuscript’s journey. The long-term survival of a Pothi Sahib or handwritten manuscript depends equally on the quality of its paper, the permanence of its ink, the engineering of its binding, and the environment in which it is preserved.
Drawing on more than a decade of experience in art conservation, heritage preservation, manuscript care, and material evaluation, Archival Calligraphy was created to bridge the gap between traditional calligraphy and conservation science.
An ordinary calligrapher creates beautiful writing. An archival calligrapher creates beautiful writing that survives.

Manuscripts Built to Endure, Not Just to Impress
Our mission is to help calligraphers, writers, granthis, artists, and manuscript creators understand not only how to write beautifully, but how to create works that can endure for generations. We believe that every handwritten manuscript is more than a work of art — it is a vessel of knowledge, faith, culture, and heritage.
Our goal is not simply to create Pothi Sahibs for today. It is to help create Pothi Sahibs that future generations will still be able to read, study, preserve, and cherish centuries from now.
